Not sure if this should be in here but it's tour related feel free to delete me Mod and boss!!! ha ha Just read through the magazine infor and I am shocked to read the bit about the prices! I know we never know if that is What Roger said but a) where did the paper get it's prices from coz the premium tickets cost way more than they said and b) if Roger feels so strongly about the ticket prices you think he would be more interested to find out how much they are charging and make them lower the cost! all very weird!

I have no idea what you are talking about Trina! I guess she means the interview Brigitte postet the link to on the mainpage. I stumbled over the same thing: They are saying the tickets are available from 29,50 $ to 127,-- $. And we all know that they are mor expensive....

Aaaaah I see!
WHAT?!!!!
As far as lionized dinosaur rockers go, Queen and Rodgers have moderately priced ducats, which range from $39.50 to $127. The Rolling Stones [1] charge $450 for a top ticket on their current tour. “I think it’s outrageous,” Taylor says of the Stones’ premium seats. “They have this iconic status but they’re not a particularly good band now, are they? They’re pretty ropey. They have a great frontman, and they are the Stones, but $450? That’s a lot of cash. How many people can afford that?”

It is times like these that I wish Roger had a soapbox like Brian! Indeed! I'm totally with Roger on the stones aspect. They are a crappy band (musicwise) wich an average singer. Sorry, they may be icons, but in my point of view they get overrated. Never liked them much and no way in this world I would pay 100 euro to see them. That's the price of standing tix here in Germany. No golden circle tickets though, those are 190 euro!! If you wanna have good seats you gotta pay 280 euro! They are mental!

Well, I too agree about the Stones, but I never really didi like their sloppy music style. I can say that over here the Q+PR tickets are far less expensive then most, but not 39. 95! We paid 108.00 US for GREAT seats in GA. GREAT seats. But too, the venues they are playing here are somewhat smaller then what they used to play...understandably. But for comparison crappy seats for Aerosmith are going for 100.00 to 400.00 depending on the arena!

I think I would of paid the 595.00 for a Queen + Ticket just to get the extra stuff if i had it.. But I didnt so 200.00 was my limit, Add 150.00 on merch and thats 350.00 almost the cost of a stones ticket. .Queen + PR more enjoyable. I seen the Stones in the 80, they were ok, Got my STones fixed and proberly never see them again.

450,--$ is far too much for the Stones! I do like some of their songs but I would never go to any concert, even if they were cheaper. Icons or not, this is an unbounded cheek!
I saw lately Alice Cooper and Deep Purple plus an unknown support band and paid 65,--€ (about 40 GBP) ;D ;D

Karla, the extra stuff was rubbish and totoally not worth it. My point here is how can Roger say that $450 is too much for the Stones- $595 is FAR too much for Queen and Paul Rodgers.

Can I ask Sarah what did you get for a $595 ticket to a Q+PR show? What were the perks of paying such a high price I guess is what I need to know to see your point - I can't agree with you here until I see what you got for your money. If it was just a ticket towards the front then I agree way too high - but then again we can pay $450-$480 AUD to get in the front ring side seats to see a wrestling show over here - WWE that is - RAW or SmakDown shows. Now if you are talking in US dollars then a front row ticket to see Q+PR for us would be (let me work this out on accurate converter and then I will let you know if that is way too high) - Live mid-market rates as of 2006.03.17 07:42:02 UTC. 595.00 USD United States Dollars = 811.568 AUD Australia Dollars 1 USD = 1.36398 AUD 1 AUD = 0.733149 USD Reference: www.xe.com/ucc/convert.cgiNow that would be a very high price to pay for a ticket over here - but then again a ticket to see the Eagles was no less than $1000 AUD - and to see Cher on her final tour was about $800 AUD. So they are in the higher end for ticket pricing of their shows compared to similar names that have come out here and toured - but with the other artists you got no extra's with their shows (these were just standard tickets - apart from roof tickets and these cost much less). If you are getting extra's for a front row ticket and say a back stage pass for $811AUD odd dollars for a one off concert - then I would pay it no probs. If it is just for the ticket with no extra's it is a little on the high side but compared to other artists that tour out here that are big named - well Queen are actually around the right charging rate. How do you see it on your end Sarah?

Hmm let me see:
We got a front row ticket but not everyone who paid that price did, it got you a ticket close to the front. In europe you could pay £50 (around $100 US dollars) for a ticket and everyone had a chance to get to the front.
We got a poster, Europe Live CD (the downloads that I already had), the ROTC DVD, ROTC CD, 'backstage tour' which wasn't up to much really- we got to see the stage before it was totally finished and got to see Bri's guitar and Pete then got to look in Roger's dressing room. Then we got tea and biscuits! *shock* Everyone I have spoken to said it wasn't worth it. And you think THAT was bad. That was just for NJ and LA. NOW for this tour, you don't get half of that stuff (including the back stage tour) and they still have the cheek to sell these 'packages' for $595. Well it totally back fired this time with some shows only having 4 or 5 packages sold out of at least 50. They had to give the tickets back to ticketmaster about a month before the shows and this is causing empty seats at the front at most of the America shows so people just move forward to fill them up!

Hmm like an airplane hey - they upgrade your seats if they don't sell 1st class seats or Business class seats. Hmm sounds like you got a few things for your money. They will be worth something one day for sure. No probs there. Not everyone would have those handouts.
hugs Isis But if you all feel it is too much for what you get then it must be..
