To be honest I don't even see the point of flash fiction. Why don't people write a fic about one of them and a girl? That would be more realistic, if fan fic can even be realistic. Normally there is only fan fiction about fictional characters, like characters from movies, tv series, books etc. It's very uncommon to write fan fics about real people. Yeah - I wrote fan fiction without even knowing it at first! Like the 'sequel' to the musical and then later the Queen's female alter egos thing - that's halfway between fiction and reality and just meant to be harmlessly funny.

It's very uncommon to write fan fics about real people. I completely agree...I thought it was all a bit odd

Yeah don't get me wrong...stuff like what you wrote is funny and fans like us get the joke and it's all in good fun...but some of this other stuff delves into don't these people have anything better to do with their lives than have fantasies about Roger and Brian having sex with each other? And if they do? Do they have to tell people about it? LOL

I think it's okay, Alison! I don't mind that kind of fan fiction. There even is a very funny "Big Brother" like fic about the boys and I almost died with laughter. It's called "Big Bummer". Look for it on the site I've posted.

Okay I posted a blog on my myspace called "I see crazy people" all about what I think about the whole myspace situation www.myspace.com/queeniediva if you want to check it out I've now posted a comment in response to that blog. [glow=red,2,300]BUT HOW DO YOU COPE WITH THAT FONT?[/glow] I can hardly read it! BTW, I found two sites in the name of John Deacon when I searched myspace yesterday. Can only assume neither is genuine.

I don't understand the fuss that is being made about MySpace. There are tons of other websites with similar content. That's what we call the internet. I pity Brian if he hasn't got this straight yet.

More to the point - what about the positive aspect as far as Queen is concerned - nearly 200 friends of the OIQFC on myspace? [glow=red,2,300] CONGRATS, SAM![/glow] Not mentioned anywhere on the soapbox. In fact, as far as I can see, fans are only mentioned in the Contact Music article, in respect of Brian being upset that they've been tricked. As Eliza says, the true fans know there's only one site. Have pointed most of this out in a certain direction. Don't know if it's likely to filter through though...

I've sent him an email about this issue two days ago, showing an quite opposite opinion. I agreed with him on the topic of the fake Brian, but kinda showed him how the internet outside his soapbox works. No reply! It seems that he doesn't reply to any non-supportive email anymore. Just the worship emails get through, though I doubt that Jen props up negative colored posts. He just can't be bothered to argument over things, on wich he has formed an opinion already. *edit* Just got an email from Jen, saying that he's off for bank holiday until tuesday.

Normally there is only fan fiction about fictional characters, like characters from movies, tv series, books etc. It's very uncommon to write fan fics about real people. Looks like those girls do that because they need a stimulation ...Really - it's sick, and not because of the gay thing of course...just because it's a gross fake (or so I assume) about the relationship between the band's members, AND a way to turn Queen into sex toys...and to me that's even worse than the fake BMs on MySpace. I wrote to Brian too, yesterday. I'm not doing that usually - just did it when Queen played at the Pavarotti gig - but I really felt like this time. I basically wrote what Eliza did about the net, pointing out that not the whole MS is bad, as there are true fans there with their "little worshipping pages" as I called them before...I even invited Brian to visit MY own MS page, and my forum too...just to see a different side of the net. Also, I informed Brian that the very Queen home (QOL) has gross posts about them (slash etc.), and to me that's as serious as the fake BMs on MySpace, or even more. I don't know if my letter will be forwarded to him though - "contains slight criticism"...

I don't think it was neccessary to point out on QOL. This board has admin's and mod's and they would step in as soon as something inappropriate was posted. As far as I know there wasn't disgusting slash fic on QOL. Just some girls dreaming about living together with Brian in a house, having little "adventures" with him. That was rather funny I think. Frankly quite the same as what we do in here sometimes. Dreaming about Roger in the SPC, doing naughty things to him. ;D That's kinda "normal" and completely different from what is real fan fiction especially slash.

I actually found some posts advertising slash fictions sites, and there are a lot of topics where people hints at those things really happening between the boys...or anyway, fantasize about that...Now, before Brian or whoever starts a crusade against MS or other sites, he should know what happens nearly under his eyes...As for moderators, if they like (or can't even see) a topic called "Roger's bedroom", in which people ask themselves if Roger ever had a threesome with Debbie and Dom, I don't think they "moderate" that much...

To be honest...what's so bad about that? It's only fantasizing and people tend to do that if they are interested in a certain person. People on QZ post those kind of stuff all the time... I don't read it because it's nonsense mostly. But as a moderator it's a hard task to keep away those stuff from the boards. As long as people don't get graphic and look after younger members.... To get it straight, I do not approve it when slash links are being posted that can be accessed by everyone, but you can't stop people from gossiping. Our very own Roger kinda encoured that by having done a home made porno with Deb. No wonder it keeps peoples fantasy going. ;D
