Stace tell them about the detroit gig!!!! Okay Sam, I'd be happy too! Well, let's see...my best friend Jan & I had the idea of making a couple of signs to take to the Detroit gig because we knew we'd be close enough for them to be seen. They weren't big signs, just the size of 1 sheet of paper. Janets simply read, "THANK YOU" and my sign read, "ROGER, YOU'RE SO F**K**G COOO...OOL". I thought Roger might get a kick out of it and was hoping I'd get a smile and maybe a thumbs up, but he did WAY more than that! During WATC I got my sign out, held it high througout the entire song while doing the "automatic sway"... a couple of times I leaned over the rail at the catwalk as far as I could, looked at Roger and pointed at him, did that 2 or 3 times, and I noticed him grinning...although I can't be sure, it seemed he was looking right at me. I thought "Cool, there's my smile, that's all I need!" and being satesfied with that, I put my sign back in my pocket. When they came down the catwalk for their final bows, Roger was on the opposite side as us. I saw Brian first, then Paul, and then Roger. All I could think of to do was shout, no wait...scream "ROGEEEERRR!" as loud as I could and when I did I saw him look in our direction, then I saw him leaning to his left, then to his right, then to his left, then to his right, trying to see around Paul who was right in front of me. I thought, "Oh my God! Who's he looking for?! Is he looking for me?! Holy Shit, he's looking right at me...he's coming this way!" And before I knew it he was right in front of me, leaned over and very carefully handed me his drumstick! He was right in my face and grinning from ear to ear, I couldn't believe it! I about fell over. And he didn't let go of the stick right away. It was very sweet cause it was as if he wanted to make sure that I had it before he let go! Then he did that little hop thing that Roger does, you know the one...haha, as he stepped away and continued on down. I found my voice right about then and shouted, "THANK YOU!" and he sorta waved and smiled and then carried on. It was a moment I'll never forget! When he was right in my face like that?! Damn, he's a knockout, and that smile, that sweet sparkly smile, he could light up any room! Anyway, it was the last thing in the world I ever expected, a moment (alone?) with Roger! At least that's how it felt. I guess he liked my sign a lot more than I thought he would! Thank you Roger!!!!!!!!!!!!
