How was the actual programme, by the way? It was "The Untold Story" with some new features. I haven't seen the untold story before and I found it a well done documentary. I agree with you on what you said about people should get a life! You must know there are a couple of poeple that have problems with Brian's current position. They say he would not begrudge an entire documentary to Freddie, hence he listed the docu under Queen. Stupid people outthere... I also received some positive comments about the documentary from another person - I believe I have seen it in English. With regard to the rest, people can have their opinion of course. I would clarify facts to avoid misunderstandings concerning any translation I've done and that's all.

Don't worry, Alison, it wasn't your fault! Jen (Bri's webmistress) must have got something wrong. I don't mind really!

I'm not likely to worry about such a thing! I know that YOU'RE not bothered Eliza, but REALLY - with all the world's problems, there are people who're picking over 'Queen' or 'Freddie'. It's sad that there are those who occupy their heads with all that. I haven't seen these threads though, and frankly don't have time at the moment. I mean, I do take care over my choice of words when translating - I want it to convey the sense of what's written and will take a lot of time if it's a matter of avoiding negative connotations regarding Freddie. In this particular text I was not at all happy about the use of the word 'kamikaze' when describing his lifestyle, but the word is not up for translation, of course. However, I still wouldn't make a big fuss about it all.

To make a fuss about all this was nothing but ridicioulous! I mean...It was fantastic that Freddie was featured among all these other legends like Grace Kelly, Nelson Mandela or Audreay Hepburn. That he is regarded as a legend is the main thing and I am very pround of this fact!

Yes beautiful documentary! I woul d never call his behaviour Kamikaze as they know what they are doing and train for it for life wheras Freddie was just living his life how he wanted to and you have to remeber that AIDS was a rumour and no=one knew how you got it or who got it back when he was infected! grr people! Freddie fan sorry get cross at these things!

I do think that he lead his life kind of kamikaze style. At least during a certain period of time, when he went literally out of control, being wildly promiscous, excessive and all.

There's an element of deliberate self-destruction in the word kamikaze which I feel is inappropriate.

You may be right, but I think it describes Freddie's livestyle during that certain period of time pretty well. Just my two cents of course! I cannot jugde it anyway, I just can write from what I have heard from various sources, like Brian for instance.

Yeah Eliza that's what I meant if he had known that you can catch AIDS and die from acting like that I would completely agree but he didn't it was rumours and hearsay during that period of his life and as soon as he knew he had he calmed right down where he could have gone all out!!! He didn't know his actions would kill him in which case he was just having a good time!

Yes, I agree with you! Aids wasn't a big deal back in the 80's. Although Freddie didn't know he would get this terrible disease from the way he acted, his lifestyle was still excessive and all. I mean if everything is true what I read about him (what I don't think), that he must have had new lovers every night and consuming high amounts of cocaine. It was certainly not the normal style of life. As said, I don't know whether this is true or not, I would rather say no.
