Well, I've just heard the news that Queen lost a court case due to the fact that they couldn't prove that they are British. Hm, I really wonder what could be so difficult about that.
I suppose they do still have British passports ...

Queenie, problem was they could not prove it. The court said that it's not common knowledge what nationality the members have. Here's the article:
QUEEN CASE THROWN OUT OVER NATIONALITY DOUBTS
The three remaining members of rock legends QUEEN have lost a court case because they couldn't prove their nationality.
BRIAN MAY, JOHN DEACON and ROGER TAYLOR sued a German record label over an unsolicited release of a 1977 live recording of WE WILL ROCK YOU.
A Cologne court threw out their lawsuit because of inadequate proof of their British nationality. The BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY hitmakers should have been able to sue because European Union citizens have the same rights as German nationals.
The court deemed internet printouts listing their birth places as 'unsuitable evidence' - deeming they did not prove their current nationalities.
Queen singer FREDDIE MERCURY died of AIDS in 1991.

Queenie, problem was they could not prove it. The court said that it's not common knowledge what nationality the members have. I do know the article and I know that they produced some sort of an internet printout. All I wanted to say was that they should have been aware of the fact that something like this simply cannot approved of by a court! I doubt that a British court would have accepted a printout of some internet pages. Maybe they should sue their lawyer! And as far as my remark about the British passports is concerned - why didn't they hand in certified copies of those? Of course you can only do that in case you still have a valid British passport ...

Huh? What's this all about? Don't understand it at all, doesn't seem very logical to me... If they're not British, what are they then? Go to Brian's website and have a look at his soap box. I believe there is an explanation of what it's all about.
