Brian told the German press that he and Roger are going to write new Queen material after christmas. So a new album will be coming next year, hopefully. He told literally, that he and Roger have so much fun doing live performances, for instance the after show parties of WWRY so they got keen on playing live again with new songs and all. The new album will not feature Robbie Williams or George Michael since both don't fit Queen anymore according to Brian. There will be a few friends, he told.
What do you think about it?

Well that is most definitely gonna cause some arguments over queenonline.com considering most people over there don't think they should carry on with the queen name. Personally I don't care for another album, what I would like them to do is do the odd live show here or there. Obviously if they do make one then great and I will buy it, but please guys, tour or do something live so I can see you again

You bet that will cause some uproar on those message boards. Like Jenny said I don't care which name they use and if THEY feel comfortable to use the name Queen then it's fine with me. I do hope for another album and tour.... but it was said to hear they don't see each other as solo artists anymore. Which is a shame because "EF" was my favourite Roger album. But I do appreciate any new stuff that will come out. ROCK ON!!!

Well, according to Brian's website none of what it's "said" is true. Where the hell do those crappy journalists get their "facts" from? They even quotet Bri!?!

I just read this interview of Brian and Roger on the Austrian Fanclub site, they both confirm a new album for 2005! The interview is in German, I will translate a few important parts later, Back to work now! Geschrieben von A.Q.F.C.V am 02. November 2004 18:00:59:
Hello Gemeinde!
Was macht eigentlich Bassist John Deacon?
Warum brachten Sie mit „We Will Rock You“ (ab 12.12. in Köln) auch ein Queen-Musical heraus? Wir haben an „We Will Rock You“ länger gearbeitet als an jedem Queen-Album.
TAYLOR: Wir werden u. a. „Radio GaGa“, „Killer Queen“ und „No One But You“ auf Deutsch bringen – und auch Falco kommt vor.
Am 24.11. jährt sich Freddie Mercurys Todestag zum 13. Mal.

Here's the translation of the most important part of the interview:
TAYLOR: Yes, in 2005 we will produce some new material and it will be released under the name of Queen. After Christmas we will start working on a new album and a tour. MAY: We've played an aftershow-gig at all premieres of the WWRY musical and that was so much fun that we decided we had to go on tour again.
Who will be the singer? Robbie Williams? George Michael? TAYLOR: Robbie Williams on vocals would be fantastic, but the risk of him not turning up at a concert is too big, because Robbie ain't a team player. And there never were any plans with George, his music differs too much from Queen. Brian and I will sing a few songs,– and Paul Rodgers of Free will join us.

I think it is OK to do whatever they are comfortable with and if using the Queen name is comfortable for them, then I feel it is up to them. I don't understand why it is so bad. I don't think Freddie would mind as his main aim when he was really ill was to get the music finished off. I think he would probably be pleased they were carrying on. But what is happening about John? Hasn't he retired from music?

Well I don't know what to believe - if Tiger's transcription is true then I'd like to believe it! However I reckon this rumour must be spread at least once a month about them either doing a gig or an album (with whoever is favourable at that time!) I guess only time will tell What I will say though if they do a live show I think the PEB's should go to the front row with our banners and t-shirts, caps and godknows what else lol ;D

But what is happening about John? Hasn't he retired from music? That's pretty true. Rog and Bri can't be blamed for Freddies death. (Sounds bitchy, I know). I think they have all the rights to carry on with Queen, although just 2 members are left since John seem to have indeed retired. Roger mentioned this in the interview Tiger did post.

That doesn't sound bitchy Eliza, I share your opinion (so maybe I'm a bitch too, lol!) Queen will NEVER be the same without Freddie (and John!), but I'd love to hear some new material! I don't think they should stop naming themselves Queen, it's a good thing they carry on. As long as it's good music in the style of Queen. Roger and Brian working together will bring up the best in both of them! It's just a pity that John doesn't want to be involved in it, but I respect his decision.
By the way, why would the Austrian QFC make up such a story? I can't believe they would fake such an interview, can you? But Brian denied all this on his site?

By the way, why would the Austrian QFC make up such a story? I can't believe they would fake such an interview, can you? But Brian denied all this on his site? Nope, he did not deny it entirely. On his Queen News site he got those news as well and didn't link to his deny. So I don't know what to think about it. That interview took place and things quoted have been said! It's not just the imagination of another dumb journalist.

I could never understand all this fuss about them carrying on as Queen yet some people get quite angry about it don't they? Surely Brian and Roger have a right to do so if they wish! I can't see Freddie having a problem with it so why should they?

Check out Bri's soapbox. He edited his comment and replied to a letter the writer of that paticular article has sent. Obviously there have been a few translation problems. The basic statement (new album + tour) seems to be true, although he didn't confirm the when and who.

I was talking to my mate about this situation and we've come to the conclusion that with most things Queen related Roger and Brian usually down play it or deny it so no one gets excited about it. So we think it's a possibility if you know what I mean?
