But I can't see him writing a blog like Brian's! You all know I love Freddie to bits, but I can't picture him writing almost daily public messages on the net . He cared too much for his own privacy. On the other hand, I didn't know he was so involved in the fans club thing. I wonder why Bri and Rog shouldn't do the same, despite what Jim Beach seems to impose on them (from what you people say). And what does the fans club do these days? just organizing conventions? (I don't really know anything about that, anyone does?).

I don't want the fan club to die a slow death, although I've never considered becoming a member. Good luck on this mission though!

Is it really that serious? I sneaked the member sign. I'll read the QOL thread later. Gotta go to a Mother's Day cafe visit...

I'm just not sure if it helps if I contribute to this thread as I'm no member of the fanclub.

Can't you join the fanclub? I probably could, but I don't see the advantage of being a fan club member. I'm sorry. I just quit my membership of the german fan club, too.

I joined the fan club last year. i payed my membership-fee via Visa but didn´t get a response for weeks, neiter a member card nor the magazines. I emailed a few times with Jacky (or Val?) and finally got all my stuff. But I would have expected more than 2 flyers for 30,-- GBP

it's three mags for £15 a year but I agree Eliza there are no benefits at all to the fan club now due to Jim grrrrr All my thoughts on this are on QOL and I can't be bothered to type them all again sorry folks! it is sooo important that we save the fan club and you're right madwoman I have it on very good authority that if Freddie was alive this wouldn't even be an issue for various reasons I can't go into!

I'm interested in reasons why people discontinue fan club memberships. Can you give me a few details as to why you gave it up? I understand the German fan club is run by a group of people - volunteers?

I don't blame you Eliza you don't really get anything for your money!! I've been trying to find out what people actually want for their money - hence my participation in the QOL thread.
