[glow=red,2,300]BACK TO TOPIC[/glow]
I quote from this year's Mojo Special regarding this song: 'Despite the suggestion of decapitation in keeping with the plot of Highlander, Don't Lose Your Head was actually written by Roger Taylor when John Deacon had his driving licence suspended after boozing with Phil Collins ('Don't drink and drive my car/Don't get brethalysed'). I became particularly interested in the song, not only because it is one of Roger's, but because Joan Armatrading provides incidental vocals - she is a singer I remember well from the 70s and 80s, was even living in the same part of London as I was before she got famous. I asked on another board about her involvement, and was told she was a friend of Roger's who happened to be passing by the studio at the time so it appears to have been quite spontaneous.

Little do we know! Y'see, there is some unusual stuff to find about him if you dig around a bit... Most of the stuff that is circulating was taken from Jacky's book, so I suppose if you've read this one, you know most of those facts.

I also had the impression, probably from the title, that it was just about the early years. I haven't seen it advertised amongst the fan club stuff anywhere...

It was quite a while ago that it came out so I'm not surprised you don't see it advertised. She had to have a co-writer coz Jim knows a lot more than she probably does

She had to have a co-writer coz Jim knows a lot more than she probably does In the course of searching for material for my site I have found a number of very useful articles in the relevant section of deaky.com, a site totally devoted to John Deacon. He's done quite a few press interviews - not such a quiet guy after all!!! I also have a biography of Queen by Laura Jackson which is readily available in most bookshops.

I don't go much on those Laura Jackson books - pretty much everything she's put in them she's swiped from Jacky's book

I don't go much on those Laura Jackson books - pretty much everything she's put in them she's swiped from Jacky's book Well it's the only thing that's readily available. If she swiped it from Jacky's book, there's a high chance it might be accurate. I don't understand why they don't have an official biography in the shops - Jacky's book should be it. (??) I've read in Mojo for example, that the Jazz album cover was based on a piece of graffiti found on a wall, but in Laura Jackson's book it says it was the Berlin Wall. That fitted in nicely with what I was writing, but I was careful to quote my source as I don't know any better, of course.
