Hi guys This is a thread about me I'm afraid Yesterday was one of the most awful days of my life and I thought when I get home I'll go online and read the message board so I can cheer myself up but then my modem is playing up and keeps throwing up error messages and subsquently won't log on Yesterday at work we were all told that in two weeks time our current positions are all gonna be made redundant If we wish to stay with the company we have to reapply but there are not enough jobs for us all. I cannot believe this is happening to me, this year is just the worse. I split with my boyfriend of 3 years in August and moved into a lovely flat that I may lose coz I won't be able to pay the rent anymore Plus now my modem ain't working. I'm sorry if this is bringing you down - I just wanted to share this with you guys and hoped you may be able to cheer me up. (I'm actually writing this during my lunch break!) Sorry guys

First of all..here is a big webhug for you! It sounds very bad. The situations seem to be quite equal everywhere at the moment. Maybe you can keep your job. Please don't give up already. You'll see what time will bring. Maybe it is something good! You never know. Think positive! Everything else would be wasted time, you know? And now write some good postings about our lovely Roger to distract yourself a little.

Dear Jenny sweetie, here's a big hug from me too That's very bad news indeed my dear, I hear about re-organisations at company's near to mine all the time, it's just terrible. But Eliza is right, you should try to think positive. I can imagine these developments make you very insecure, especially the financial part, moving away from your flat would be awful. Don't be sorry to post about these things here, don't think you "bother" us with it. I hope posting here will make you feel better, thinking about Roger always helps!! I wish you all the luck with your re-application and keep us informed about all developments!

Oh, Jenny, these are bad news and hard times you are going through. Here's my web hug for you! I don't know the trouble with applying for a new job myself so I cannot really give some advice here but 2 friends of mine are going through the same jobwise. So I just hope you see things positive and believe in yourself that you will stay in the company and thus keep your flat. I truely hope so, Jenny. But it's a good thing that you are back online to distract your thoughts a bit...

Well I said I'd keep you updated so here goes:............ Today I had my interview for the administrator post and I think it went well. At the end they said I answered well So I shall hopefully find out tomorrow or Thursday. Thing is though I don't know if I want it or not, I'm so confused! Do I really wish to work for a company that has messed me around since March? No not really! Do I wish to pay my rent? Yes! Tough decisions ahead.............

Hey, this is good news. I'd take the chance. Nowadays you could can be happy if you have a job at all. So if this job is a good one, well paid and all, I would go and grab it.

Congratulations on your good interview, Jenny! I think I'll second Tiger's thoughts. The most important thing now is that you have a job which pays your rent even when it's working for a company that causes you sleepless nights during the last months. But you can always look for a new job when times are getting better. Main issue is that you could keep your appartment and won't have to join the queue of those being unimployed...

Hi guys Thanks for your comments but unfortunately the decision was out of my hands. I was informed today that although my interview was very good they decided not to offer me the job. Therefore as of Tuesday next week I shall be made redundant. I'm quite happy about it, hopefully I shall be able to find myself a post I shall enjoy!! ;D I asked them why I didn't get (everyone was convinced I would) and they said that I didn't have enough administration skills. With 5 years behind me that's a big pile of poo. This is what I think of them anyway

NEWS FLASH I've got an interview on Wednesday. That's not bad is it considering I've sent off 8 applications!! Well wish me luck On a different note my mate came round today and she brought some of my stuff that's been in her loft for me to sort through etc. OH MY GOD!! Some of the embarrassing stuff that's in there.....it's such a laugh. But unfortunately we still haven't found the blasted drumstick. I reckon Roger's been in our old place and claimed it back lol (It's a long story don't ask lol) But I've been reunited with my happiness and electric fire tour progs and all sorts of Queen stuff woohoo ;D
