It's been great! I've been to the Mountain Studios door and put flowers down at the statue. The lake is sooo beautiful. I got some photos, some of them are digital, but some are on my old camera and so they will take a while. I'm so tired right now, I'll write more tomorrow.

Ok, finally some pics. I couldn't post them yesterday because I had to prepare for the first match of the worldcup...NOT! ;D A friend came by and we did some stuff to organize our call reunion. Well, I'm afraid there aren't a lot great stories. It took us about 4 hours to get there, with breaks, traffic jam at the border and road works. The weather was great though there was a bit chilly wind. Montreux is great. It's really not that big, but when you drive through you see all of these hotels, Montreux Plaza, Monteux Palace, etc. First of all we went to the Casino. The door of the Mountain Studions was supposed to be in the East, but since we didn't know where that was, we walked around the whole casino. My dad kept asking what I was looking for and I said "a door". LOL He was like "A door?!? What's so special about a door?" I guess he thought I was mad. We finally found it and made pictures. I wrote something down, too. Something like "We miss you Freddie" with the date. Then we walked along the promenade to the Market Place where the statue is. It really felt very "Southern" like holiday. ;D (me and my mum watching ducks)

Montreux market place: There were some people sitting in front of the statue when we arrived. My dad suggested that he just takes a picture of me behind the statue. No way! I didn't drive 4 hours just to get a picture of me with Freddie's butt! Anyway, when I put down the flowers they went away. Me at Freddies feet: I didn't get lilies, so I got three yellow roses. I put a ribbon around and wrote on one side "We'll remember - forever" and on the other "the PEBs - www.roger-taylor.net": img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/Elenir/Montreux080606/blumen.jpgThe white rose is from me personally.

Lake Geneva really looks great. I think it's the combination of the mountains with the lake. The mountains are impressive themselves but how they tower over the water... It just looks great, mystic somehow. It's a kind of magic... And here a view of old Montreux: It's built up between the lake and the mountains and it was quite exhausting to climb up. On this picture you can't see it but they built a tall multistorey building. It ruins a lot of the view of the city I think. All this great architecture and then this ugly tall building just to have as much hotel on the tiny spaces left as can be.

Tha place looks magic indeed! No wonder Freddie fell for it and wrote "A winter's tale" there. I see many italian fans left a sign of their presence on the studios' door! And yes...that hotel is a shame . You saw ducks, but weren't there any swans? You know, Freddie used to watch them back then... Thanks for sharing pics and emotions with us!

Great pics, Elenir! The lake looks really beautiful, I would love to visit Montreux sometime, shame about the multistory building though.

You saw ducks, but weren't there any swans? Of course there were swans, too. With babies. We were watching the ducks because at that point a small stream was coming into the lake and the ducks were using the current as some kind of water carousel. LOL Perhaps we should have the next PEb meeting there. More pictures to come, btw.
