I'm always pinching ideas for discussions from other boards and this one is no exception LOL
What was the last album you heard all the way through? Did you like it? Did you hate it?? Why not share your thoughts in this thread?
Yet another attempt to get discussions going LOL

Good idea, Jen! The last album I've purchased and heard all the way through was Mika's "Live in Cartoon Motion". "Grace Kelly" didn't get hook me on him, but the other songs are world class altogether. Some of his stuff sounds very much like Queen. Perhaps that is what attracts me. LOL I don't know, I just can recomment his album to anybody who likes versatile pop music.

Mika's songs are certainly very catchy but I don't like him as a person. Whenever the press has compared him to Freddie he has often been downright rude about the whole Queen thing.
I listened to The Answers album yesterday. They supported Paul on his UK tour and they are fab. Definitely worth a listen people ;D

Apart from you and Eliza nobody else seems to think so *sigh* Naa, not true. Fact is, I listened most of the time either to a Queen album (and that´s not what we want to discuss here, I think), or to a CD with various groups (can´t say album here, can I?) ;D ;D But I played my Mika CD yesterday again and I still love it! Don´t know much about him personally, only that he is tired of being compared to Freddie all the time. But I love his music. Each song is completely different. His voice has range most of the people only can dream of... and the themes he sings about are interesting. ;D *ducks and hides, because she knows you all don´t like him*

So I like this thread ....and Mika. LOL ;D I'm very much into the music of a new bavarian artist called Claudia Koreck at the moment. She sings in bavarian slang, wich makes her songs kind of different. She hasn't published her first album yet, but there is one really catchy single I could listen to the whole day: "Fliagn". Have a listen here: www.myspace.com/claudiakoreck

Never been that much into it, same with Happiness and Strange Frontier, I preferred Future Management. Probably I know it since it came out (once upon a time). But I remembered that you told us that this is your favourite Roger album (hope I´m right here) and decided to give the album a second chance Well, it was worth it. Besides that it is always great to hear Roger´s voice , I loved the soft tones and meaningful lyrics. Although I still have to think about what or whom the lyrics can be...

For me the man has always tried to better himself in each album, or maybe he hasn't and he's just grown up with them. Thing is each album gets better than the last. Fun In Space is not really much to write home about with exception of Let's Get Crazy and a couple of others. Then Strange Frontier, first 5 or 6 songs are good but the rest let the album down. Happiness is a good album but far too polictical for my liking with each song trying to make a point!! Electric Fire hits the nail on the head in terms of good value songs with a good time behind them. There is no hidden message (apart from People on streets perhaps) it's just good ol' Rog doing what he does best Rockin' it!! I feel the same about the Cross albums. Shove It is 80's cheesy pop in one album and doesn't really sit well with me!! MBADTK is a good album but not a perfect set of songs, Old Men for example is a let down on this one. But Blue Rock is a good 'un with good rock songs and slow ones showing the band can be something pretty special. There seems to be a running pattern that he quits making them and goes onto something else when he's made a pretty good album. I wonder what the future holds??

I've been listening to a lot of Nickelback, but mostly All The Right Reasons. Really like them, will be seeing them on the 10th in an outdoor venue a few hours away. My first real concert in quite some time!
My mood for Queen/RT/BM/whatever incarnation varies with the way I'm feeling. At one point in my life I couldn't even listen to Queen without being traumatized, so I'm very happy to have them back in the things that bring me joy.
I just got out of a very dark period where NO music would make me smile, make me feel... I was just DEAD inside. So this is a good feeling, indeed.

My first real concert in quite some time! I am getting a bit envious.... I saw them last year as an opening act for Bon Jovi and they just blew me away. I do have all (3) of their albums but I do prefer the last one. It's much better produced then the othters. Have fun at the gig!!! I'm liking Nickleback too! And I'm pretty sire a certain boss likes them too ;D How do you know? ;D
