How do you celebrate Christmas in your family?
What will you be eating? Who will you be seeing? Will you be buying gifts? What is on your wishlist? (*except the obvious, Roger*)
I've opted NOT to buy gifts this year, instead, I have 'adopted' a family who won't be having much of a Christmas and put together 3 full boxes of food and presents for them and their 3 children.
No one should be eating canned soup on Christmas day.
I know a lot of immigrants from African countries, and I will ask them for an address of a family who needs help (in Africa) and send them money on a monthly basis starting in January.
I love Christmas!! I wish it was Christmas everyday!!

Merry Christmas for everyone here! I'm not ready to celebrate yet, because I'm an Orthodoxal christian and our Christmas comes on January 7th. But Ukraine has many catholics too, so in fact we have two Christmas days in our country. But we'll prepare for both Christmases lately. Now almost everyone is busy with St. Nicolas Day - need to find presents for kids. I work at the dental clinic, we're preparing sweets and toys for every our little patients. What's for the Christmas... sure I'll celebrate it with my family. Usually we don't give expensive presents (only little souvenirs). The best gift for us is to get together and to forget about the troubles just for one evening.

Christmas every day? Nah... though I love christmas, too. Here in Germany it's been celebrated in a traditional way. As you might know, we celebrate the evening of the 24. It's called "heiliger Abend" over her. (holy evening). Normally we decorate the tree, go to church then, have dinner afterwards and then everyone is getting his pressies. It's quite hard for the kiddies, because they have to wait until about 7 p.m. until they are allowed to open their gifts. I think it's a wonderful idea, Kimberly, to think about the less blessed people!

I'm home at my parents. My grandma will come and we'll have Raclette and then presents (on the 24th). 25th we'll go visit some family. 26th will be a quiet day, I hope.

These are my plans: On Christmas Eve I´ll be here at my place with my husband and my son. We´ll have a lot of food and wine and a nice evening. ;D On the 25th my brother and his family (5 persons) and my best friend will visit us and we´ll have again a lot of food and wine and fun. ;D On the 26th I´ll be lazy all day long and will go for a over-30-party in the evening. ;D

Hope you all have a peaceful Christmas time and will enjoy being with your loved ones! I will decorate the tree with friends of mine. We do that every year together. If we don't (I think we missed out for 1 year) I don't get into Christmas mode. Right now I am not cause I am still working and will tomorrow. *sigh* On the 24th I will be at my Mum's place having coffee and Christstollen, then presents later and dinner. The 25th I will also spend at my Mum's place. On the 26th I will visit my friend (and goddaughter) and her family.

Me, my father and my twin sister often visit my aunt and her family in the west coast. My other aunt and my grandmother is there too, and sometimes, my uncle and his girlfriend comes to celebrate with us. We watch the traditional television shows (Syntyche, det borde väl du veta allt om xP) and after the dinner we open the Xmas presents. Everyone buys gifts for everyone. Though, I would rather celebrate Xmas on my own. Being outside doing charity, or something.
