THE model who played the Cadbury's Flake girl in the TV adverts proved her mettle in a real-life drama at her London home.
Deborah Leng, 23, gave would-be burglar Bernard Bruin the fright of his life when she went for him with a knife.
Leng, who earned mod-elling fees of [pounds sterling]2,000 a day, let the burglar into her Wapping flat in London's Docklands, thinking it was her boyfriend Roger Taylor - drummer with the rock band Queen.
She pressed the button on the entryphone to release the door catch without checking to see who it was.
But when she heard crashing noises coming from her bedroom, she armed herself with a kitchen knife and confronted the 24-year-old intruder. The crook fled.
He was caught and jailed for two years.
Leng already had a reputation as a formidable character, as well as being the femme femme fatale of the pop star world. Her previous lovers included David Bowie and David Essex .
Two weeks earlier Taylor had to be separated from another of her former boyfriends after they came to blows over her.
Taylor, 38, had notoriously left his wife Dominique after only 24 days of marriage and moved in with Leng.
She was not long for the chocolate flake world. In 1990 she was axed from the commercials for being 'too sexy', and labelled a bimbo. Her replacement was a 'more intelligent-looking' brunette.
Months later, failed pop musician Douglas Lean tried to sell a homemade video showing Leng and Taylor having sex to a tabloid newspaper. The paper handed Lean over to Scotland Yard.
The couple are still together and have two children.
