I thought I opened a new thread to discuss wether we are going there or not! At least there should be a thread I think.... This is Jacky's original post on her website: MY SILVER JUBILEE!! By Jacky Mar 20, 2007, 11:30
My own personal 25th anniversary of running the Queen Fan Club (not the anniversary of the Fan Club itself..that's older!) falls this year, and any excuse for a party!
So, I have booked Bisley Pavillion (http://www.bisleypavilion.com - home of the SAS Band Christmas Party!
Date: JUNE 30th!! Not sure of what we will get up to yet, but the plan is an all dayer... games, BBQ, bar, market etc outside, films and videos inside. Live bands in the evening - I have already booked the SAS Band and Spike will find us an array of special guests I am sure! There are rooms here, you can call them on 01483 488 488. we may also have room for tents/campers, but that is yet to be confirmed.
The ticket price will be in the region of £25 per person, but once I have worked it all out I will post definate details here and in the next magazine (due just after the convention).
Put the date in your diary now, I want a packed house, it will be a great day!I did check flights for the date and prices are ok as well. So who else is up for it? Coops: We can talk about all further things here.... Eliza: What do you think? Would it be possible? @the English girls: Who will be there? I read on other boards you are all making plans. Would be nice if you could post if or if not you intend to come....

Pam and I are definetly going and I think Trina and Jen as well. I think we will camp in a field on the premises cos the hotel room is too expensive and not very good!

As said in a different thread I am not into camping.... ;D After a few drinks and when I am really tired I don't care too much about the room anymore (I hope!). Or we all stay at Roger's place. I am sure he's got some spare rooms left, right? ;D

I'm not into camping either, so if you don't mind, Brigitte, I'd like to share a room with you! I would be up for it. I've decided that I won't go to London with my family this year, rather have vacation at the sea in late august.

And of course I don't mind to share a room with you. After all I am the one who's not exactly "silent" at night... ;D I am also on vacation in August (Spain for 10 days I think) so this and maybe the SAS christmas gig is all I am doing outside Germany this year.

Great news, Coops! So do discuss it with hubby (please send him my regards and tell him he's in good hands). Question is if we are staying there for the weekend or just for one night. So lot's of stuff to talk about including flights, times, etc. Unfortunately the rooms at Bisley's pavillion are sold out but there's an alternative In Woking which is near by and it's quite ok moneywise. I don't really want to go for the Rifle club's cabins... Here's Jacky's post: From QueenWorld.com
Fan Club News MY SILVER JUBILEE!! By Jacky Apr 3, 2007, 17:21
It will be 25 glorious years ago, come June, that I first began working for this fabulous band called Queen. I remember it well, there was a tube strike in London, I had to travel across from the East End, luckily I had a friend who rented one of the other rooms where I lived, who was a bus driver! I got to Pembridge road, rang the bell (STILL not really knowing who this 'top rock band' were..) and walked in on an office that was to become like a second home to me! Roger was there, looking at artwork for something or another. I knew he was one of Queen... but not sure which one!
Anyway - two interviews later I got the job.. seems like a lifetime ago! I have over these years done so many things, been so many places, met so many people, because of this band Queen. Most of my best friends in the world are Queen fans.
SO - I want to celebrate this 'job' of mine, this way of life I call the Queen Fan Club, I want to invite you all to celebrate with me too.
June 30th, Bisley Pavillion, near Woking in Surrey. Starting about 2pm, finshing... late! BBQ, market, bar, live music (Spike and co and perhaps something else too!), videos, games... all on the adgenda, but yet to be confirmed.
Tickets £25 each, as many as you like as long as one of you is a paid up fan club member! Dress code - SILVER of course!
Send your cheque or postal order (payable to the Queen Fan Club) with your name and address, membership number, ticket requirement and an SAE to The Fan Club at P.O.Box 141, West Horsley, Surrey, KT24 9AJ.
Or you can use Paypal - if you do PLEASE remember to add £2 PER ORDER (not per ticket) for postage and paypal charges.
Accomodation at Bisley's main 'hotel' is already sold out, but they have camping facilities and some VERY basic 'cabins' which belong to the Rifle Club. For details of charges and availability call Amanda on 01483 797777. Or check out the Holiday Inn in Woking www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/hi/925/en/hd/xwowk
It's going to be a great day, and I would love to see loads of you there - especially some of those from my 'early days' who may have lost touch or not been to any of our events in a long time... time to come out of retirement guys!
After the fabulous convention, we need another Queen Fix fast! Oh - and don't forget our Freddie Party in September either, in Bournemouth!

Same here, although he already said he doesn't have anything against another England trip of mine. A few questions remain though. Firstly I'm not a member of the international fan club. Am I allowed to join in at all? Secondly how long are we going to stay, wich airport are we flying to, how do we get to the venue from there....? so many questions. ;D

They had no single rooms left at Bisley so I booked a twin. If anyone is seriously coming and would like to share, going halves, it's £25. Let me know!

And of course he at once said he would turn his tour down so I could go to Bisley.... but I don´t want this. But I want to join you. *big sigh* I don´t know what to do now. At the moment it looks like I´ll stay at hoe in june.

I would go for it but there's more then one person so I'll have to look for something else.... This is complicated.... @coops: These are bad news... I cannot tell you what to do. It's so nice of your husband to want to postpone his motorcycle trip but I could understand it if you don't want him to. On the other hand it would be soooooo great if you were there! Tina: Looks like it's just the two of us from Germany - though I don't give up hope that maybe Coops joins us! If not we should look for flights, airports, dates etc. And if you cannot come as well I would gladly accept Alison's offer! We just should make up our minds quickly before we don't get any cheap flights or rooms anymore. I am up for everthing...

I'd love to go, but after the convention I think we are probably a little bit broke! I'll also just be back from Florida and The Who gig the day before so I guess I'll have to cross my fingers.
