It's a private thing I suppose. The name Queen will always be associated with Freddie.
Freddie was Queen.
Queen and especially music was his life.
He gave us so much, but time goes on as we carry on. And Brian and Roger should carry on as well. They both are a quarter of Queen and they have every right to go on under the name "Queen". Just my two cents.

I completely agree with you - if anyone has the right to do with that name as they please it is Brian and Roger and at the end of the day they are only trying to keep the name alive for our sakes as well as theirs ;D

BUT if they tour Germany/Europe (though I don't think it'll be a very long tour) we should definately be able to maybe meet in person. What do you think? |

Sorry to upset someone now!!  But I think the new Queen tour might be a mistake, especially to go under the name Queen. Sure, they can go on tour, but Queen did LAST gig in '86. When Queen was four people, not two. That was Queen, this new thing is more Smile than Queen. I think they should re-consider the tour name. Sorry to say folks!! |

Haven't they been playing with great success lately? If they enjoy playing live and people enjoy listening to their music I don't see why they shouldn't go on tour. Who says John might not join in? I just didn't quite catch the point you were making.  |

Agree 100% at the end of the day it's not for us to say whether it's right or wrong and I think fans will always be divided on this subject. For me Roger and Brian can do what they want because I'm almost positive Freddie would have given them his blessing  |

No need to apologize, Knuti. That's your point of view and that's completely ok. I just wanna share some thoughts here. When you see how much fun Brian and Roger have to perform the Queen music, you can figure how much they want to carry on. They LOVE to play their old stuff and so they decided to make a new Queen tour. It has to be a Queen tour because of the music.  The time is right for this! Queen is hip, Queen is fashionable. Old as new fans as well go buying their stuff, watching WWRY, getting new DVD's and so on. Queen is finally a term again! Apart from that, how long should they wait to carry on? Until their 70's? Hell, they are already 55 and 57 years old! Freddie never will be forgotten. Never. But the Queen music needs to be carried onto the world again! Rock on, Roger and Bri! |
