Has anyone read the article?? It says:- Poodle - permed rocker Brian May has slammed Madness star Suggs after the singer publicily mocked him and his wife Anita Dobson at a tribute event. The Queen guitarist was attending a dinner in London in honour of his road manager Robbie Williams when Suggs invited the rocker onto the stage to say a few words. Brian, 59, was then incensed when Suggs raised a few laughs among the audience by poking fun at May and his famous actress wife's hair. "He introduced me with a sad old joke about my and Anita's hair", complains May. "Ha, ha! How dissapointing people can be. It really makes you not want to bother. Next time, I'll stay at home." Poor Brian!

People come up with such unoriginal stuff because it's the first image about him that appears in the minds of most of the general public, I guess.

It made me cringe, when I read this particular soapbox entry. I nearly burst out laughing at the way he slated this Madness guy. That was SO miserable!! I can't believe that a mature man, a person of public interest, even a CBE can get choked up about this on his public website!!! As if anybody would pay attention about crappy hair comments. It reminds me on the MySpace incident- *cringe*

I guess he gets fed up because it's the one thing that comes up time and again. I'm sure he'd prefer to have his guitar prowess or Bang! mentioned instead. Im sure it's very frustrating when you're known for that one thing all the time and you know there's so much more. Also, I understand his upset about the music critics' comments about Mika but he does have a tendency to home in on that negative stuff when there IS a lot of positive writing to be found. I find that it gets a bit trivial after a while, blurbing on about WWRY when actually we know what a success it is, and not just at the Dominion.

I completely agree with you here. WWRY is a musical and a one that is really entertaining. I am with Roger that I definately dislike most of them - but must admit I haven't seen many.... But he should really stop writing about these things on his soapbox and rather discuss his problems with the press (that he might need if the album comes out) with family and friends and keep it in the closet. He comes over very grumpy these days but I am sure there must be more to him...

If I remember correctly, it was a private event he was rambling about on his soapbox. These kind of things doesn't belong to an official site. We all know how much he's against smoking, but hey...he can't dictate people what to do or not to do.

Brian seems to overreact sometimes. I think that's the best and most kindest way of putting it

I think he's beyond midlife crisis by now. Should be the lack then..... ;D I wonder what he said back in the 80s, when Rog, Freddie and Deacy used to be heavy smokers....

Maybe it's a question of who's smoking. I had a close look at this picture this morning and I think I spot a package....
