I'm watching out on ebay for the rest of his solo stuff. I got it cheaply - although I had to wait for some of it - at www.101cd.com

Obviously, if an album marked the early days of a person's interest, it will remain highly significant, just as Queen's first four albums are to me. 'Tenement Funster', for example, is a song that I thought I'd completely forgotten in all the years I hadn't heard it, but I hadn't actually! I totally agree there - one of the first albums I got was Hot Space and that does hold a special place for me. It's not the best album ever but there is something there I agree actually - I just find it a strange mixture of tracks. 'Under Pressure' will always remind me of China - that's where I first heard it when I was there as a student at the time of its release - on a cassette tape sent to one of my fellow British students, 'cos it seemed that the Chinese government blocked the BBC World Service Radio signal during every Top Twenty broadcast! (They were still very worried about western influence then, esp. on the young). I believe I read/heard somewhere that Roger said 'Under Pressure' was the best thing Queen ever did.

I'm not so much into his solo stuff to be honest. The best song he did in Queen was certainly "Tenement Funster". At least it is for me. I really dislike "Fun it", "Loser in the end" and "More of that Jazz".

I agree that "Tenement Funster" is way up at the top of the list but then there's "I'm in Love With My Car"...Haah - you see what I mean when I say I don't like answering questions about favourites..."Radio Ga Ga" is also brilliant - I sang it at a Karaoke the other day and I came to appreciate it even more - "A Kind of Magic" (which I didn't even realise he'd written until I did my 'crash course' a couple of years back) has taken on a new dimension for me since I heard it in the musical, not the least the lyrics! Then there are "These Are The Days of Our Lives" (which I also hadn't realised came from him) and "Heaven for Everyone", and I also enjoy "Ride the Wild Wind" and "The Invisible Man" Haaaaaaah - can't go on ... If I had to choose a song for him to go into Room 101 (a programme on British TV where a famous person chooses anything s/he detests, taking the idea from George Orwell's '1984'), it would be "Calling All Girls". (Though I have to say that the video is priceless... ;D ;D ;D ;D)

LOL It looks so darn cheap with all those crappy robots. ;D ;D When I referred to Roger's songs it was meant to be the songs sung by him. Of course I do love "Radio GaGa", "Magic" and "These are the days".

Rock it!!! I just love Rock it. It's my fav song sung by him. Followed by Funster and Drowse and Let me Live (if that counts). More of that Jazz is really... can't bring myself to say bad, it's a Queen song after all... *hits.herself.on.the.head.like.dobby* Bad Elenir, bad girl, mustn't say bad things about masters... (sorry, somehow I had to think of that house-elf in Harry Potter) ... well, it's not one of their bests.

Rock it!!! I just love Rock it. It's my fav song sung by him. Followed by Funster and Drowse and Let me Live (if that counts). Yeah his vocal in Let Me Live DOES count - I think it sounds really erotic! I think Drowse is great - but A Day At The Races, although it had been released, was not part of my collection in my teens so I never recall hearing it back in the 70s. I just think it's really unusual and the lyrics are quite fascinating. But I think Car must just take it from Funster - it was such a special song to me, ANATO being my favourite album to this day - it was also the B side to Bo Rhap which also meant so much, of course...

Aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! So many songs to mention LOL Rock it is my absolute FAVOURITE!! Drowse has memories for me, listening to it on my walkman, spending the evening with my mate ;D Let me Live - have you all heard the 'right now baby' at the end!! I nearly died when I heard that!! Song for room 101 would either for me have to be Coming Soon or Kind of Magic they both annoy me!! LOL

I've just listened again and heard that! Thanks for pointing it out! I get so taken by his 'Let Me Live' interspersed just before... What about Sheer Heart Attack? I love it too! What's that sound in the middle? I think he was trying to make a noise like a dentists' drill LOL (seeing how he never became one - a dentist, that is, not a drill ;D) - and this is an early reference to DNA, must be from his knowledge of biology - the term was not in common usage until a lot later when it started to be used in criminal investigations...

"Rock it" is also one of my faves! I love the Freddie intro and when the songs starts properly, it's so full of energy. Like Rog..
