will it all be played by actors? I wonder if they will bring it up to the present day? Or is it just Queen with Freddie?

Well, since it's a "Freddie" movie, I guess it ends in 1991.
Well, I'll just wait and see. I'm soo curios who'll act!

Im glad Brian, Roger and John will be involved in a movie about Freddie. But anyone else attemping is going to kill it.. Freddie was to special of a person to screw around with his life on screen.

I have my problems with movie biographies in general. You know what this person looks like and seeing an actor pretending to be that person is something that I don't buy. I mean throughout the film I still think it's an actor pretending to be a real person. I have had this problem with every biography I have seen, wether it was Lady Di, Buddy Holly or Jonny Cash (no matter how brilliant Joaquin Phoenix' performance was). I only see the actor and never the person he portrays in the film. So I don't think seeing someone pretending to be Freddie in a film is a no-no for me. Let alone that it's of course for making money. As if they didn't have enough of it! ;D I feel exactly the same about this! It would be really weird to see actors pretend to be Freddie or Roger, cause we "know" them so well. If I want to know more about Freddie's life I'd rather read about it in a book...

I have major issues with this film! They are now saying it is definately going to be Johnny and he will be miming to freddie's voice but Queen will have the final say over the music used in it. I cannot imagine Freddie voice looking like it is coming out of anoyones mouth! Johnny isn't that bad a choice but then no-one can be Freddie! My second major issue is over the script! I think this relates back to when Jim Huttons book came out, an English DJ ((Mike Smith) bought the rights to the book in view of doing a film! I hate Jim's book! The problem I have with it although I love Jim it focus's way too much on Freddie's personal life such as the drug taking and the sleeping around as we all know this is not the whole person and he was so much more than that! I'm hoping the focus will be what an amazing talent he was and genuinly lovely person but as many of the documentaries lately have shown i don't think this will be the case as for the johnny cash film I have to agree with Jen I loved it but I'm not a fan and didn't know anything about him so don't know how acurate it was or anything I'm sure the true fans were probably horrrifed!

I see you point. It will be very hard to accept anybody to play Freddie, no matter who it is. As for the way it will be done, I doubt they will only focus on his excessive style of life. Bear in mind that Brian and Roger will have their hands on the script and we all know that both of them won't allow anything than a decent kind of movie.

I've heard nothing that they will have any say in the film contents other than what music is used which is scaring me! otherwise I wouldn't worry at all as I trust them impecably!

From what Brian wrote, I assumed they do indeed have say regarding the story, actors, whatever.

Mmmm. We'll just have to wait some more, I guess.
The movie probably won't be made for fans anyway. I guess the others weren't either. Muscial biography movies seem to be very trendy now, Ray, Walk the Line, Supremes....

I really don't have a problem with it actually....apparently Roger and Brian are going to have some say in it as well as Mary Austin..and probably Freddie's family....to me a film made about someone as long as it has accuracies is a tribute....and after all Freddie was very theatrical...and now that he is passed..I think he might be honored or excited about it...
Walk The Line was mentioned..and it was very well done I think...my dad is a fan of Johnny Cash and he liked it...June Carter's mother was related to my great grandmother too..and she was portrayed in the film, my great grandmother knew both she and June and I think if my great grandmother were still alive (she died when I was five) that she would think it was really neat to see a relative portrayed in a movie...also Cash's son with June was even credited in that film...so...I think that these things can be well done..
.we'll have to see of course...but I don't think it's the worst thing in the world....I think we should give it a chance first...I mean after all it can't be some dreadful piece of tabloid crap if Roger and Brian are going to have anything to do with it because we ALL know how they both feel about that sort of thing...personally...I'm gonna give it a chance...but we have to see it and see what Rog and Bri think of it first....
Just my opinion on the matter.... ;D

very well said indeed Queen diva and I didn't read what brian had said about it and if that's true then phew maybe i can start relaxing about it haha! And I agree these things can be done very well indeed so hopefully it will be great and yes I think it is a tribute to him and he would be proud BUT! the worrying thing for me is what they are basing it on i hope it isn't any of the bipgraphies out already but a whole new piece of work with everyones input now that would be good to see!

I certainly wouldn't want to see Freddie's personal life being dragged into this too much. It's actually one of case of I would rather not know. But the documentaries tell us anyway so i hope the film won't!!

I don't think the film will focus on his private life too much. Therefore his work and talent was too important.

But, from the point of view of the producer, who wants to earn as much money as he can at this film, focusing on Freddie's private life would bring more audience. So it is not so obvious.
