Got my package last night which was nice as I had to do extra hours at the office and hoped it would be there to cheer me up! Tina: Thanks for sending it. @coops: Have fun watching it today! Glad you are happy with your bday-present! I started with the bonus disc as I already have seen the concert via the torrent from queenzone. The concert will be next probably tonight or over the weekend. My first comment: It did not cheer me up really for several reasons! a) I had to really swallow hard when I saw Michelle….. R.I.P. b) it has too much Sarina in it for my liking! She’s practially all over DVD 2 and looks more like his daughter then girlfriend cause he looks rather old with his long hair (though I love the jacket!)…. Hahahahaha! ;D ;D ;D c) Seriously, during the whole filming Roger comes over a bit too snotnosed for my taste. Not only that they had a barrier in front of the hotel for lets say 30 people waiting there to have their stuff signed and he only managed to sign a few (getting up a bit more early and having more time for the fans would have been nice if you put something like this on a DVD). He’s also not greeting anybody when he enters the backstage area. He looks totally indifferent during the total filming whereas all others of the band seem to have fun among each other. I never thought I’d say that but Brian wins by miles on that disc in reference to coming over as a nice person (don’t yell at me!). The interview sections with Roger aren’t helping much as I got the same impression. And if any of them ever mention Paul as their idol (or Freddie’s idol. I should mention I loved Paul on this tour. It's got nothing to do with him. I am happy they picked him) again I’ll scream! I am soooo tired of it….. d) Oh, he was delighted to see young audiences…. “There were a few old people”. He seems to have forgotten that these “old” people are those that were fans from the 70’s or 80’s onwards and still stick to the band and travelled all over the planet to see them and are those that filled the arenas! Everybody’s becoming older, even Roger and he should probably have that in mind. There’s of course nothing wrong with winning over young audiences. But that’s no need for slagging people off. It was probably not intended to sound like that but for me it came across like this. OK, just my 2 cents. I am still slightly pissed off by it and think wether I should have bought the DVD at all. But then, as I am old I can afford it! ;D. Oops, I really had no intention to have a go at Roger ;D Please keep in mind I "love" him but this DVD certainly added to his sometimes "arrogant" image and doesn't exactly make him more "human" (in lack of other words) for the audience.

oh no, that sounds disappointing indeed Brigitte... That's not the image I would have of him, I always thought he was the funny one of the group... Maybe he partied a bit too much and had a hangover, but this is not good RT promotion indeed...

OMG. I don't think I'll ever get the Japan DVD (still trying to make up my mind about Paul ), but this is sure disappointing to read anyway. This "indifferent" look that you describe made me think about the Pavarotti & Friends (where Brian made a lot of contact with people from the stage, while Roger just sang - that was and still is my impression - and without even a smile...) and Roger's appearance at the italian program "Maurizio Costanzo Show" where he left the stage as soon as the song was over, without a single smile or gesture or whatever...not even a nod at the audience...maybe they were disappointing in some way, but...it was sad . I'm surprised, also, that the DVD shows Sarina a lot. His former partners NEVER featured in videos, if not "en passant"...(...Well, I mean, Debbie did, but for obvious "clip reasons"...).
