i can't remember which thread it was in but I think it was Eliza who complained about Debbie being pushy. i needed t think about that for some time until it occured to me what might give that impression. In the early days of Queen the press was very different. the families of rockstars were left alone to live their lives. But that started to change round about the time Rog started dating Debbie. All of a sudden everyone was free game and the British press is particularly nasty ... then there is the fact that now we have 24 hrs news and the Internet, sth that didn't exist back then ergo more photos and articles by anyone not just the regular journos. That might go some way of explaining why there is more stuff on Debbie than dom. remember you are only getting someonelse's point of view, be it the photographer's or the reporter's and there is one hell o a competition going on out there, so they have to make it more 'interesting' if you know what I mean. Btw, sorry if that wasn't you Eliza but some one else.

Lucky us that we don't have the press following us everywhere. I like my freedom so much.

And I think they outweigh. But on the other hand the privacy is easier endangered. Think of privat details that you store on the pc or the exmaple that you described.

:)I read your whole post Madwoman again and I have to agree with you about the fact that today the press and the Internet could have negative effects on the VIPs lifestyle...I don't know how to explain that in English but I think their lives nowadays are kinda reality shows, most likely..Just have a look to the Mtv's"Newlyweds"or famous'people reality shows that are sourrounding the whole tv scenary....Ok,in these cases these Vips want to be filmed, but it's no respect for their privacy,in a way.. :-/I also agree that we've got lot of stuff about Debbie, but this may could be because she's been quite famous before dating with Rog,too..She had the advert, the naked photo on Pirelli in 1986 and other little guest appearances that I've heard about,so it's quite normal she's been well known the time she felt(lucky her ;D!)in love with the gorgeous drummer...Dom was not famous, she was a common girl when they met with each other, more or less...She was just Richard Branson's PA,but she hadn't done any Pirelli or any adverts...Usually the medias prompt in a Vip's life when he's going to divorce from a common girl he married when he was a young guy,to live a"new life"with a young model or actress..It seems like this to me..

ellie, very good explanation of what I have in my mind. Problem for the press was that none of the three really talked about it in public so they maybe just made up the story of "poor Dominique" was left by "mean Roger" for a "young Debbie". And the fact that he married Dom and 3 weeks later moved out to live with Debbie didn't really help to put an end to any speculation. Maybe their relationship was over before that and Debbie was just the last reason they needed to call it a day. And sure she was in her early 20's and he left someone in his age and built relationship with a young girl. Just what the press needed.

And after all that I read on this topic it sounds as likely as not. That would also explain the good friendship Roger and Dom still share.

I wouldn't like to sound critical or offensive, like the press I think it must have been a really difficult time for her, but why did she marry him if she knew he was going to live with another girl? That is something that has always escaped my reasoning. I don't think I could ever do something like that, you know being called Mrs Taylor when you know you don't have him with you anymore. The first thing I'd do would be to get rid of his surname even if I were best friends with him. Southern mentality, maybe?

Just what the press needed. :)Thanx boss!! :-*I've seen this situation almost everytime a middle age Vip or sportsman, leaves his maybe 20 years time wife to fall in love with ayoung pretty girl.. :-/This is may because these women feel a lot the pressure of the medias and they feel also very unconfortable with their husband, that's so famous now and, when they met him,he was just a neighbour or classmate...They're not used to the Internet or tv gossips, they have lot of stress and they don't get on with their men anymore...So,at the end, they split up and everyone's gonna live a new life... :-/Just a good example:Italian gorgeous sportsman Mario Cipollini left his wife after 16 years of marriage, they met at school when he was only 20,they both studied in the same school and that boy was not famous at all..After 20 years he's famous, rich and he goes on the catwalk everytime he wants...At the end his wife was not used to this kinda life and they divorced..Now he's with a young Brazilian model..
