What do you think he believes in? I suppose he is not a strange believer in all sort of things, like chaos for example? I can't wait to read it.

That's an interesting question. He believes in all sorts of great things. I'll make a list in the next day or two.

Do you mean religiously? In one video he says he doesn't believe in religion and that it tends to "f#&k" people up..the others laughed. Keep in mind that not believing ina particular God doesn't make someone a bad person. Some people believe in Earth based religions or other things and they're as good as any one else. We can't judge someone else on their religious beliefs. That's how people go burned at the stake. Sharon

How about this - maybe just a start?
1. The Almighty 2. Heaven 3. Life in outer space 4. Love 5. Friendship 6. Self-belief 7. Sincerity 8. Oneness of humanity 9. Team work 10. Peace 11. Having fun 12. Human dignity

His lyrics have been telling a different story since then.

We've all heard the quote about "religion tends to f*** people up" but keep in mind that just because someone is against organized religion doesn't necessarily mean that one is an Atheist. There's still lots of room for spirituality, agnosticism, deism, etc. And as fotograffa said, not beleiving in a particular god doesn't mean that someone is a "bad" person.

Of course it doesn't. I don't even know what I believe in anymore and I am a very nice person but I have the feeling that we are ruled by some kind of intelligence.

In every human being there is the ability to be very good or very bad...it doesn't much depend on their religious beliefs. Accept people on a one to one basis and certainly not on their religious beliefs. Being a Pagan doesn't make anyone less worthy than anyone else. Personally, I think Roger's comment on that tape made a lot of sense....but don't hate me because of it. Being a Pagan only means I'm not Chrisian, Jewish or Muslin. I am a very Spiritual person and maybe just follow a different path than some of you.
Just an added note...I hope none of you had family or friends hurt by the terrorist attacks in London today. What scary world we live in!!
Stay safe everyone... Sharon

That was in the mid-eighties. I think his meaning had more to do with dogma. His lyrics have been telling a different story since then. Do you mean they have become more spiritual? I would say so, yes, but also more strident. The latter applies especially to the later solo material. He's moved on from writing about everyday things, although some of those early songs had great messages too. The Loser in the End, for example, Tenement Funster and Drowse, if you look into them. I quote the 19th century American philosoper Ralph Waldo Emerson, whom I've come to admire: 'I see that sensible men and conscientious men all over the world were of one religion'. We have a lot of Muslims in the UK and the majority are as appalled as we are. There is something about this in my Queenzone blog, today's entry; somedayoneday.queenzone.com/blog_view.aspx?Q=444

Does he believe in reencarnation? I know that lots of stars do. I doubt it somehow - but Brian might do, I think.
