I'd even go one step further and say that an atheist needn't be non-religious; a better way of saying it would be non-spiritual. I'm thinking specifically of humanists, who basically believe that people have enough within them without an outside power. It's interesting how such beliefs have the same starting point though. A leading Bishop in my church once had a conversation with an atheist, asking him 'Well, do you believe in anything?' - he replied 'I believe in man'. So the bishop said, 'Well, there we have common ground, because God believes in man too'. I think that all faiths have the idea of 'God within' and it's interesting that in a conversation between Church people and Communists (who also exclude God, calling themselves atheists), that I know took place in East Germany, when they really got down to the philosophical side of things, found that there were many similar aims. I think Roger does have a belief in 'the Almighty' because he has used the term, albeit in the course of a joke. As we say 'Never a truer word is spoken than in jest'. My reason for saying that Brian probably believes in reincarnation is a comment on his soapbox after the Beslan tragedy. If anyone is interested, I'll take a look and dig out the link. I believe in reincarnation also. I believe im coming back as a cat. ok, all are laughing I know it, but im a huge animal lover and my love for cats especially. Now this is going to sound crazy, but I feel I can communicate with my 4 cats in someway or another. I even think one cat was someone I use to love that passed on. She is always talking with me, trying to tell me something. Yes im a huge cat lover. ok, you can commit me now.

This is known as 'transmigration of the soul' and is believed by some Asian religions, notably Tibetan Buddhism, headed by the Dalai Lama, a greatly respected thinker and leader. I therefore don't think you need to be committed, even though it's not something that Christians would believe in.

What about intensity? Does he believe in it? jazz, you need to clarify what you have written here. I find that the word intensity doesn't make sense in the context of your question.

I agree, my question was a bit vague. I meant the degree to which something makes you concentrate a lot or use a lot of emotion. I have heard him use the word intensity a few times but he doesn't look emotional at all, that is why I asked that question.

I have heard him use the word intensity a few times but he doesn't look emotional at all, that is why I asked that question. Well I remember him saying in the Cyberbarn video that when something annoys him - or words to that effect - he puts it into a song. I don't recall him using the word intensity so I'll have to think further about this one.
