:)Really I dunno what is really Rog's belief, never heard anything about it properly...I mean,he only said that he doesn't like religious people, but it doesn't mean to me that he would be an atheist,he could sounds like an agnostic, even though he keep on saying the name of God while speaking(for example"thank God" or "oh God" ...I've still no clue for my question"does Rog believe in God?"

That's just a popular phrase. Everybody does use it, even when being a atheist.

Does he believe in reencarnation? I know that lots of stars do. I doubt it somehow - but Brian might do, I think. I wonder what Brian knows about it. Do you think they share their thoughts on this?

There's a difference between being non-religious and being Atheist. Non-religious people believe in the existence of a god but don't feel that they have to go to a house of worship every week and know the sacred literature inside out and upside down to prove their belief. It's possible to be very devout within yourself without having to prove outwardly your beliefs. An example of a non-religious person would be a deist, who believes that God created the world and then let it go--he's not omnipresent, controlling every minute detail of everybody's life. An Atheist, on the other hand, is someone who denies the existence of deities alltogether.

I'd even go one step further and say that an atheist needn't be non-religious; a better way of saying it would be non-spiritual. I'm thinking specifically of humanists, who basically believe that people have enough within them without an outside power. It's interesting how such beliefs have the same starting point though. A leading Bishop in my church once had a conversation with an atheist, asking him 'Well, do you believe in anything?' - he replied 'I believe in man'. So the bishop said, 'Well, there we have common ground, because God believes in man too'. I think that all faiths have the idea of 'God within' and it's interesting that in a conversation between Church people and Communists (who also exclude God, calling themselves atheists), that I know took place in East Germany, when they really got down to the philosophical side of things, found that there were many similar aims. I think Roger does have a belief in 'the Almighty' because he has used the term, albeit in the course of a joke. As we say 'Never a truer word is spoken than in jest'. My reason for saying that Brian probably believes in reincarnation is a comment on his soapbox after the Beslan tragedy. If anyone is interested, I'll take a look and dig out the link.

I was interested in what the word 'religious' really means and so I tried to find a defination and i did . It says that there are two meanings of the word 'religious'. The first one is... beeing a member of any religion and the second one is... believing in god. So I`d say if you believe in something you are religious. Whether you are a member of any religion or not. That would make Roger an atheist, wouldn`t it?

An atheist is someone who doesn't believe in God or any divine/outside power. I'm not sure that the description fits Roger. Eliza, I'm having problems accessing the direct link. But if you go to the September soapbox www.brianmay.com/brian/brianssb/brianssbsep04.htmland scroll down to the Sep 6 entry entitled 'Moscow on Our Minds', it's there.

I dont think that applies to Roger either. I know Im not religious at all, but I do believe in GOD, and sometimes I lose my faith in GOD. Sometimes its hard to believe.
