Roberta, I hope you didn't understand my post as having a go at you. This is just a discussion with different opinions among grown ups. That's what message boards are for! We cannot always agree on everything or on everything he does (in this case what he doesn't! ). Don't worry - I was actually writing my message while you were posting yours, so I hadn't even read what you wrote before I posted that! I was only expressing my hope that people wouldn't get me wrong . As for message boards, I absolutely agree with you!

OK, here are my 2 cents... Have the "fans" on QOL ever considered the fact that maybe Brian is too nice?? IMO he's one of the most friendly rock stars on this planet, which makes Roger look "bad" no matter what he does... Don't blame Roger for not being Brian!! I think, that's the point!! Show me at least one rock star with Brian's attitude towards his fans.

Can I just say this before I shut up? ;D As you may know, I'm a speaker in a local radio station. Now, I can't possibly go there, open my mike and come across like "I'm not in the mood of entertaining you today because I've just quarreled with my husband" (just an example LOL). And not just because I have a boss there! On the other hand, if someone should stop me on my way home after my radio show (not that this happens LOL), I could be nice or not, depending on my mood...but that's offstage, like I said before...All I was trying to do in my previous posts was drawing a line between "on" and "off" stage... As for Brian, I'm not one of those who compare him with Roger (I know you didn't mean me Eliza! I'm just explaining that)...I'm handling the two of them separately...

No, I didn't mean you, hun! I was speaking from fans in general. Fans that are often not into a particular member. To those kind of fans, Brian may come across more open and "nice" in public than Roger. But that's just the way he is. He's a chatterbox. ;D

I have never met either of the guys to my great dismay...the only time I kinda met Brian was at the premiere of wwry, we'd waited 3 hours before hand to meet him at the stage door and he came out and was just hounded and jumped on by all these people. So i didnt do anything, i didnt approach him and didnt ask for his autograph eventhough i'd been waiting for 3 hours. I don't regret it either.
I have a problem with Brian tho...he'll pose with people, sign autographs and stuff and then go an complain about it on his website. How would someone feel if they'd met him one day and were feeling so happy and later on he was saying how all these fans bothered him and made trouble for him. They'd be gutted. Brian needs a lot more reassuring than Roger ever does, hence his website....Brian rants and rants and waits for people to agree with him. But anyone who disagrees...strangely don't get their emails answered....like we're all supposed to be sheep and suck up to him.
I know i'm biased towards Roger of course but at least with Roger he goes by his actions....if he doesnt want to sign things or pose for photos, then he doesnt. Yeah it hurts when you've been waiting i'm sure but at least he's been honest. He isn't doing all those things and then complaining about it later.
(on a side note, I know for a fact that Jacky prefers to deal with Roger anyday...cos if she asks him to do something and he doesnt want to he'll say no and thats it subject closed. She'll ask Brian and he'll agree and then change his mind and then agree again etc etc cos he doesn't want to say no and let people down)

Okay, everyone is giving their 2 cents, so I'd like to have a go as well. Now, I don't read the QOL message boards so I don't know exactly what people are saying, and from what I've read about it hear, I don't WANT to read it cause it would just piss me off. This sort of talk about Roger has been going on for years. Personally, I like the fact that Roger prefers to keep his private life private. I guess I enjoy the mystery. I love the fact that Roger isn't afraid to say "F*** Off! It's none of your business!", when he wants to. That's one of the things I've always loved about him. If Roger communicated with the fans the way Brian does, he wouldn't be Roger. So he didn't give a convention message and he didn't give a speech at the WWRY thing, so what! Worse things could happen! Right now, I'm more concerned about his health than anything. Especially since I just read the news that he won't be appearing at that Highclere event (or whatever it's called) after all. Of course, we don't know the reasons why, but it makes me worry even more. If he doesn't show up for the VH1 Rock Honors thing, then I'm really gonna worry. Who cares about messages and speeches when theirs news of him being sick enough to be hospitalized. Hells bells, if it were Brian we were hearing this stuff about, people would be sending get well cards and messages, they'd be freaking out..."Poor Brian"...I'm so sick of that! All I care about right now is knowing that Roger is okay. All that other bullshit doesn't mean diddly squat to me at the moment. I'm just hoping and praying that Roger is okay. To me, that's more important than anything right now. I'll worry about the other stuff later, first things first!

I agree Stace, all the girlies in our chalet (Pam, Jen, Trina, Jamie and I) were saying that the reason we love Roger so much is cos of the way he is and how he really doesn't care what people think. Everyone makes out he's some horrible ogre and he really isn't. Not that he'd care what we thought any way...he just wanted to be "rich and a rocker" and he "has a life" and he doesnt use the net LOL

You are right. I also hope that he will be well soon. It's just...Roger's not the keenest of all guys when it comes to representative stuff, so it often is up to Bri to do it. And Brian doesn't seem to bother. So I assume, they came to a mutual agreement concerning this stuff. If it's fine by them, excellent! We can't see behind the curtain anyway. Roger is Roger and Brian is Brian. They couldn't be more different. That's why you can't compare them anyway.

And not just because I have a boss there! I think that everybody that is employed has to do his job no matter in what mood we are. That's the disadvantage of *having* to work! ;D All I was trying to do in my previous posts was drawing a line between "on" and "off" stage... Completely understand your point of view. But then one should know what in this case is on and off stage or better what's work and what not. Going there was no must. Signing stuff on your way out is not work anymore. I think that famous people are simply looked at being at work all the time when you bump into them. They may go shopping, etc. As soon as they bump into fans they are asked to sign stuff and pose for photographs. Is this on or off stage then.... *obviously in a very philosophical mood today... * ;D ;D ;D As for Brian, I'm not one of those who compare him with Roger (I know you didn't mean me Eliza! I'm just explaining that)...I'm handling the two of them separately... I do for sure! ;D ;D ;D Spamvicious: Wonderful post and basically what I wanted to write if I was able to write anything proper today (which I am not. Too tired from an exhausting weekend... ) And yes, this is what I was thinking about brian when he ranted about the subject in his soapbox. Made me feel bad 25 years later!
