Q+PR tour update- rehearsals/brixton/QOL shop

It all starts here! The band have now been holed up in rehearsals for a few weeks now and the reports from various members connected with the Queen and Paul Rodgers camp are that it is sounding nothing short of phenomenal! QOL has been already filmed at the 'load in' and will hopefully gain access to the full band sessions to give you some exclusive footage of the boys in action!

It is just two weeks until Queen + Paul Rodgers step out for 46664 South Africa at Fancourt…excited?

There are still a handful of tickets available for some of the European shows. All UK arena shows are sold out.

I really hope they put some rehearsal footage online. But then they also promised to bring some video clips from Roger's performance back in May 2003 (cannot remember which occasion it was though). I am still waiting on this...

Found it on QOL.... Here's the message that dates back to May 2003:

"Last night The Roger Taylor band performed at Billingsgate Market in London for the ARK Charity evening. He was joined by Roy Wood, Bob Geldof, Chris Thompson, Spike Edney and Brian May. After two songs from Thompson and four rattling horn filled numbers from Roy Wood, Roger took to the stage.

Dressed in all white Roger opted for three of Queen's ‘poppier’ numbers in 'I Want To Break Free' and his two self penned tracks 'A Kind Of Magic' and 'Radio Ga Ga'.

Geldof then hit the stage and ripped through a frankly barnstorming set of Irish folk rockers including 'Rat Trap' and 'Great Song Of Indifference' before being joined by Roger for a run through of The Who's 'The Kids Are Alright'.

Brian then hit the stage for a few words before ripping into 'We Will Rock You' and inevitably 'Tie Your Mother Down'. Roger then left the drum stool for a roaring version of Led Zep's classic boogie rocker 'Rock N' Roll'.

The gig was filmed by QOL and an edit will shortly be available here right here on the site. (Ed: Waiting for this clip for ages now!) The full set list was as follows:

I checked Brian's soapbox because I know he had a picture of it. But the soapbox's archive is only online until January 2004. I know I have it somewhere on my computer. But I doubt I ever find it again... He looked good as far as I remember, though (what else? )
