:)Hiya girls, dunno if this thread will deserve to be posted but I wanna put it here cause I've just read that Rog has said something against the group Coldplay... :-/I don't think he's been that polite with them, cause they're young musician and a good band, for my tastes.....May they need to be encouraged instead of being despised.... :-/I know everyone has got his own tastes, but I've been a bit disappointed by this Roger's coming out... :-/What do you think about it hunnies?

I like the way he puts his thoughts straight. It's just not the best thing to say it in the public. ;D I can't judge it. Can't say I'd have heard enough Coldplay stuff to give a proper statement.

I don't believe it personally - A few years ago I swear he said he liked them and now he's changed his mind - nope not believeing it, plus it's reported in a tabloid - says it all

Not just this. He even said he'd prefer the Crazy Frog to Coldplay! ;D ;D Allegedly. In fact, the lead singer of Coldplay (sorry, forgotten his name, senility has set in) was interspersing his own singing with Crazy Frog 'dling' sounds as a humorous rebuff over being kept at no. 2 by a ringtone. (This was when they performed on the Jonathan Ross show earlier this month)

So maybe Roger's quote about him prefering the frog to Coldplay has been just a sort of joke of him. That's just like him. ;D

I have been sent another link about this Coldplay thing: Eighties rock legends QUEEN have launched a stinging attack on anthemic rockers COLDPLAY - claiming all their songs sound the same.
Coldplay's single SPEED OF SOUND was kept off the top of the British charts by CRAZY FROG's AXEL F, a novelty hit based on a mobile phone ringtone - but QUEEN drummer ROGER TAYLOR favours the frog over COLDPLAY's offering.
Taylor says, "I actually prefer it to the Coldplay record," and adds, "everything they do sounds too similar." www.contactmusic.com/new/xmlfeed.nsf/mndwebpages/queen%20savage%20coldplayWhereas it might not be polite at all (just in case he really said it) I join Eliza in saying that I like the way he puts his thoughts straight. BUT if it's true it wasn't his best idea to slag them off in public. And favouring the frog over Coldplay... well, that's another story!

To be honest I don´t understand his words as a joke. And it wasn´t very polite, as Brigitte said yet. But it´s typically Roger to say what he thinks without any considerateness, isn´t it? Love him for that!
