Thanks.
Our cat is sooo happy today: We got the christmas tree! He spent quite sometime outside (the tree is on the balcony) sticking his head into the branches and running his head over it again and again. LOL

*sigh* Cat's ill again. Well, not really. I mean he doesn't look like he's in pain or something. But he's walking weird. Something is wrong with his hind legs. He seems to limp a bit and most of all he's walking.. diagonal somehow. Hard to explain. His hind paws are more to the right than his front pwas whne he walks. and sometimes he nearly falls. It started yesteday. We wonder whether he had a stroke or soemthing's wrong with his hip/leg. I tend to the latter because sometimes he walks straight for a couple of steps.
Well, of course he's starting for the festive season with it. He always gets ill just before a weekend or so. Now we'll have to wait until Christmas is over (or longer) to get him to the vet. At least it's not painful or urgent (I think).

*keeps fingers crossed* hope you can get it sorted sooner rather than later. Btw, he hasn't hit the bottle has he? Just asking because as a child I had a hamster who managed to get himself drunk and was promptly zigzagging across the floor.

Yep it's true. It was quite funny really, in a somewhat disconcerting way. *gg*

A dunken hamster?! ROFL
Yes, my cat's a lot better. He's still walking strangely sometimes, but hardly. But he's got a new thing now: he loves to drink from a bucket on the balcony with some spruce in it. I just hope it's not toxic. But I guess it's more like fir-ice-tea or something... Perhaps it's doing him good.

Oh no. I hope he's better soon.
Our cat had to go to the animal hospital and stay there because of his bladder, too. And he certainly lives for long years after that. It's a male cat? They often have those problems.

I think our cat is quite alright again. He was so funny yesterday.
First he grapped a mouthful of cat food when my mum showed it to him. My mum only wanted to show him, so he gets up and goes to the place where he normally eats. But he was just so greedy he already snapped some. And with mouthful I mean a mout full. But it was too much, so he had to let out half of it again in order to be able to chew the rest.
And then yesterday he tried to get to our "Neujahrsbrezel", some kind of big sweet pretzel you eat on New Years Day. It was packed in paper and he tried to get some of it. But he couldn't open it and we heard him and chased him away. Then this morning my dad couldn't find the pretzel. Turned out it was somewhere underneath the table, the paper torn open at one place and a bite taken off it.... He never did that! (Well, at least with Neujahrsbrezel) He normally doesn't like it. Weird cat.

I am sooooo sorry I didn't check the thread earlier.... Please excuse me! Elenir: Good to hear your little fur baby is better. @jen and Trina: Sorry to hear about the trouble but good to know it's been sorted out again. Yes, it is a typical male cat disease as my first cat had it as well but lived on with it until he died with 19 years! So there are cures for it. Another typical male cate disease are kidney stones because of the dry food ("Trockenfutter") like Brekkies, etc. (if you know what I mean.... They tend to drink less then they should).

yep exactly right boss it wasn't kidney stones but showing similar symptoms and was caused by the dry cat food bless him I was sooo worried! thanks everyone for saying it's so treatable though the vet was scaring me! We have bought them a water fountain to try and get them to drink more lol! I think he was just trying to copy his dad haha

I'm soo worried. Since this evening our cat can't walk anymore. He can't sit or stand on his hindlegs. And when you lift him sometimes he cries like it hurts. I hope it's just some kind of lumbago (hexenschuss). My mum is even more worried, I guess she won't sleep tonight. I hope everything goes well tonight. He can't sleep with me since I have a loft bed. I guess everything not on the ground would be impossible and dangerous. I just hope he understands that, too, and doesn't try to jump up somewhere.
